PIECES ACCORDING TO THE LITURGICAL SEASONS
THE RHYTHMS OF CHRISTIAN LIFE
HOLY WEEK AND EASTER

One of my most beloved pieces. With the opening words of Psalm 50, this song is a reflection on sincere repentance and the peace of forgiveness that comes with it.
MISERERE (orchestral version)
This orchestral version of the Miserere is the central part of a larger work, Beati qui lugent, that you can find in the section of Competitions.
ALMA MÍA RECOBRA TU CALMA
Harmonization of Miguel Manzano's classic. A song I remember from my childhood. In this arrangement, the tenors are off by one measure, responding to the rest of the voices in the refrain.
RESPUESTAS CORALES CICLO A
Choral responses to the fragments where the plebs intervene in the reading of the Passion of Palm Sunday. In this cycle we have interspersed, along with the 3 that I have composed and, with all due respect, 2 of the great Tomás Luis de Victoria. The texts are updated to the recent revision of the translation of the Missal. The character of each one has to do with the meaning of the text: The first represents hysteria, the second mockery and the fifth, the severity of blasphemy.
RESPUESTAS CORALES CICLO B
Choral responses to the fragments where the plebs intervene in the reading of the Passion of Palm Sunday. The texts are updated to the recent revision of the translation of the Missal.
RESPUESTAS CORALES CICLO C
Choral responses to the fragments where the plebs intervene in the reading of the Passion of Palm Sunday. The texts are updated to the recent revision of the translation of the Missal. The character of each has to do with the meaning of the text: The first, mockery. The second, arrogance. The third, cynicism. The fourth, anger.
Another of our classics. On a melody by Carlos Montes, I harmonized the Easter sequence "Ofrezcan los cristianos....".One of the choir's favorite works. It is a long piece, where a main melody and a secondary melody are combined with slight variations. The work is full of joy and hope, and wants to express the light of the Resurrection morning.
A very short acclamation of praise in Latin. It can be used at different times. We also use it in Ordinary Time at the end of Mass, when we receive communion alone in the church.
This piece was conceived to be premiered in the entrance procession of Easter Sunday 2020, which was impossible due to the confinement. The recording was made by some members of the choir from our home. It is an introduction plus a canon that is repeated, and yes, it is the famous 4 chords of POP music that appear in so many songs .... but it works :)

VOZ EN EL DESIERTO
This piece, composed together with Carlos Montes, would be an alternative to the mythical "Prepare the way for the Lord" from the opera "Godspell". It is a very syncopated piece and we always finish it a capella and with hand clapping, connecting with this gospel tradition.
